It is truly a testament to her phenomenal talent and enduring contribution to the industry. Georgette's influence and support have surely played an important role in Tammy's success, making this award even more meaningful,” said said Dr. Gerald Murray, artist manager and booking agent for Georgette Jones.

Wynette's unwavering dedication to her craft, combined with her distinctive style, propelled her to iconic status within the country music community. Her music became timeless, transcending generations and continuing to inspire new artists today.
Here’s what the Recording Academy had to say about Wynette:
“Tammy Wynette first hit the musical scene in 1966 with ‘Apartment #9′ after moving to Nashville and teaming up with record producer Billy Sherrill. Together, the duo wrote songs that reflected the yearnings and the things Wynette felt were important in her life. In 1968, Wynette released ‘Stand By Your Man,’ which sold more than five million singles and became the largest-selling single ever recorded by a female artist. By 1970, she racked up five No. 1 country hits, was named the Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year three times, and won two Grammys. Wynette was the first female country music singer to sell over one million albums and has sold more than 30 million records grossing more than $100 million, earning her the title ‘The First Lady of Country Music.’”
This coveted award recognizes the unparalleled impact that Wynette had on the industry and her enduring legacy. From her timeless hits to her impeccable artistry and stage presence, Wynette embodied the true essence of country music. Her songs, often exploring themes of love, heartbreak, and resilience, struck a chord with listeners from all walks of life.
Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award is a fitting recognition of Tammy Wynette's enduring legacy and the profound influence she has had on country music. Her contributions will forever be cherished, and her impact on the genre will serve as an inspiration for generations to come. Tammy Wynette was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1998, the same year she passed away at the age of 55 on April 6th.
"Once again, congratulations to Tammy Wynette and Georgette Jones on this well-deserved Grammy Award. Their musical legacy continues to inspire and captivate audiences, and this recognition is a shining testament to their enduring impact on the industry." said Dr. Gerald Murray.

Georgette Jones Honors Her Mother Tammy Wynette's Music and Legacy Performing On The Grand Ole Opry "Country Classics Series"
Georgette Jones honors her mother on the Grand Ole Opy stage
Georgette Jones and husband Jamie Lennon - Grand Ole Opy stage -
Country music star Georgette Jones, daughter of music superstars Tammy Wynette and George Jones, stood inside the historic Ryman circle on the Grand Ole Opry stage to perform for the "Opry Country Classics Salutes Tammy Wynette" show April 6, 2023. The show was broadcast live on WSM Radio.
On this consequential night, Jones honored her mother’s passing twenty-five years later by delivering to an elated and receptive audience a spectacular and stirring performance of Wynette’s "Till I Can Make It On My Own" and "My Man." Members of the Jones family were in attendance as well as her husband, Jamie Lennon, who played guitar for her set of songs. Jones' manager, Gerald Murray, and Gerald Murray Music consultant, Tom Long, were also in attendance.
Grand Ole Opry said on its Facebook page, "We were thrilled to have Georgette Jones step into the circle tonight singing "My Man" and "Til I Can Make It On My Own" to honor her mother, Tammy Wynette."
This particular Opry Country Classics show highlighted the songs of Tammy Wynette on the 25th anniversary of the country music legend’s passing. Besides Georgette Jones, among those performing were Wendy Moten, Lauren Alaina, Chuck Mead, Lauren Mascitti, and Opry members The Gatlin Brothers, who were hosts for the evening.
Jones, speaking for herself and on behalf of her family, said, "On what is always a painful and sad day, we now have a wonderful memory to think about. The Opry had a wonderful night honoring our Mom. So thankful for being invited to be there and for me to get to participate. It's always an honor and thrill to be on that stage. Everyone was great, and to top it off, I got to have my husband play with me on the Opry for the first time. We had incredible friends in the audience who have no idea how much it meant to me that they came to support us! Y’all know who you are, and we thank you for ALWAYS being there for us. I missed my other son, Ryan, but he's in OK active duty AF and couldn't come. Thankfully, my son Kyle and his sweet wife, Abby, were there, along with my awesome sisters, Gwen and Jackie. What a wonderful and memorable night."
"The Opry and the Ryman were very important to mom. She grew up listening to the Opry on WSM and always dreamed of having the honor of playing there. It really meant the world to her to stand in the circle and be part of the Opry family. As a child, I ran the halls backstage along with many other artists’ children and grandchildren. I have the best memories of being there not only for Opry appearances but for award shows and TV shows as well. It was a big, extended family environment that I am grateful to have experienced," said Jones.
Since Georgette's parents were dubbed the "President and First Lady" of country music, she has earned the sobriquet "Country Music’s First Princess." From a young age, Georgette spent a lot of time with her parents learning her way around the Opry.
The Grand Ole Opry "circle" represents a part of the original location of the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, when plans were being made to tear down the Ryman and build a chapel out of the bricks in the Opryland theme park so that the artists that came from that era would remember their times there.
The coveted historic circle was never painted, but it bears the scars and scuffs of legendary artists, entertainers, songwriters, and hosts. It has been over four decades since the circle was placed in its new home. To this day, the circle remains revered by any artist who has the honor to stand inside of it.
Importantly, on January 4, 1969, Tammy Wynette joined the cast of the Grand Ole Opry as a member. That same year, she won her second Grammy award for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female, for "Stand By Your Man."
The Country Classics concert series honors legendary country music performers and songs. The timeless hits by musicians like Johnny Cash, Patsy Line, Alan Jackson, and others are performed by contemporary artists with country music luminaries. Celebrity hosts, highlight performers, and fans of classic country all gather here to celebrate the tunes that helped Nashville become known as "Music City." About Georgette Jones:
Known as “Country Music’s First Princess,” the second-generation country music artist performed "Daddy Come Home," a duet she had recorded with her father when she was 10 years old, on the 1981 HBO program "George Jones with a Little Help from His Friends." George and Georgette perform "You and Me and Time" on the last George Jones album before his death, "Burn Your Playhouse Down: The Unreleased Duets," which was released in 2008. A year after Tammy Wynette's death, Georgette paid tribute to her mother on Mother's Day 1999 with the song "I Hope You Knew.” Georgette has performed at the Grand Ole Opry House and at the iconic Ryman Auditorium.
In addition to singing and songwriting, she is also an author. She wrote the highly acclaimed biographical book, "The Three of Us: Growing Up with Tammy and George." The book reflects on life growing up with her famous parents. Jones’ book also provides us with an inside glimpse at the workings of the country music industry. She considers her own life of incorrect turns while looking for true love, her need for a home life, growing as a person, and continuing in the family musical tradition.
Georgette was recently a featured artist in Episode 2 of Jills Veranda Nashville, a Swedish Television/Warner Brothers International Television production hosted by Jill Johnson, Sweden’s Queen of Country Music. The show is streamed on Sveriges Television AB - SVTPLAY.
In the 2022 Showtime original series about her parents, George & Tammy, Jones is given writing credit for two episodes and is given creative control over how stories about her parents' often-tragic lives in Nashville are retold. She also appeared as a backup singer in the final episode of the series. The show is in large part derived from Jones’ book, "The Three of Us: Growing Up with Tammy and George." The limited series stars Oscar and Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain and Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Michael Shannon.
Together with Leslie Jordan and Olivia Newton-John, Georgette appeared in five episodes of the 2008 television series Sordid Lives as her mother Tammy Wynette. Jones sang on the soundtrack for the program as well. Jones has appeared on other TV shows such as Crook and Chase, RFD-TV, Larry's Country Diner, and Tru Country.
As a solo artist, Jones has recorded five albums: "Slightly Used Woman" (2010), "Strong Enough to Cry" (2011), ’Till I Can Make It On My Own" (2013), "This Is Christmas" (2013), and Skin (2019), as well as the duet with her father, "You and Me and Time." She has also collaborated with other artists, including a duet with Billy Yates, "Golden Ring," a duet with Mark McGuinn, "Better a Painful Ending," which appears on McGuinn’s album "One Man's Crazy" (2015), and "I Know What You Did Last Night" feat. Vince Gill (2019).
Georgette has been enjoying her love of gaming and working toward bringing country music into gaming. Since childhood, she has enjoyed gaming. Gaming with others online presents the opportunity for her to connect directly with fans and grow her fan base.

New TV Series ‘George & Tammy’ based upon the book by Georgette Jones "The Three of Us: Growing Up with Tammy and George", starring Oscar winner Jessica Chastain and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon - Airing now on SHOWTIME
George Jones, Georgette Jones and Tammy Wynette-Jones
I’m only going to post this once because I really can't believe I even have to. Let me start by saying thank you so much to all of you who have been so supportive and have commented with positive feedback. It means the world to our family. Having said that, I know the tv series will get both wonderful and negative reviews because that's just how it is. What I'd like to say here is this:
This is the real story of my actual parents and since neither are here with us anymore it's even more special to us to tell their story. Not 1 person on this planet sounds just like Mom or Dad. They made the decision to have them sing because the most important part of a true story is being real and emotional in every moment. If anyone has ever watched people lipsync, it's obvious that it's difficult at best for the music to connect as well as be able to show an emotional performance. I applaud their courage to take on such an incredible task knowing how people will rip them apart for their efforts simply because they expect the impossible. It's impossible to find both amazingly talented actors to pull off their characters, but for them to also sound just like the people they are portraying is really impossible. I'm hoping people will realize it's the story that matters most since we already have the beautiful music they made separately and together......we already have that forever.
I hope people will not be so critical especially when they watch Jessica and Michael perform the way they did. They are amazing! Now for me to get to the point. This is MY page where I share my interests and I'm also very proud to share memories and music related to my parents. So, while I understand and expect some people to have negative thoughts and want to speak out...... I ask you to please say all you think and all you want that's negative anywhere else but on my page. My family, friends and I do read these comments. Try to imagine if it were your family. Would you want to read mean comments about your family anywhere? I'm only asking all of you to remember this isn't just a TV show. It's my parent's lives. Please show respect here or expect to be removed. I dont go to anyone's page to be negative, so, I hope all of you will keep this in mind as you comment here. Thank you again!

Mandy Barnett Becomes The Newest Official Member Of The Grand Ole Opry
Pictured L to R: Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, Mandy Barnett. Photo Credit: Chris Hollo
After more than 500 performances on the self-described "show that made country music famous," on November 2, 2021, the Grand Ole Opry introduced Tennessee-raised singer Mandy Barnett as its newest member.
“We are thrilled for Mandy, and congratulate her for becoming the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. She is a singer's singer, and justly deserves the honor of being among the elite members and great Grand Ole Opry country music artists..." said Dr. Gerald Murray, Barnett's booking agent and owner of Gerald Murray Music.
Country Music Hall of Fame couple Marty Stuart and Connie Smith joined Barnett on stage Tuesday night during an Opry broadcast to welcome her into the program's "unbroken circle" of member artists. Barnett's membership was then made official by Marty Stuart.
Connie Smith invited her to become an Opry member on Sept. 28, 2021. "You've felt like family since we first met, and on this, your special day, we're honored to invite you to become an official member of the Grand Ole Opry!" Smith said.
Mandy was joined on stage during her November 2nd Grand Ole Opry set by Patsy Cline's daughter Julie Fudge, who presented Barnett with an autographed photo of her mom and a canceled check for $50. Per a press release, "the check was written for cash so Cline could make a trip to Houston, where Cline likely spent time with her fan and friend Louise Seger. Cline's friendship with Seger is at the heart of [Always...Patsy Cline]."
"This is the happiest day of my life!," Barnett said in September. "I came here back in the 80's and met so many of the greats that came before me like Roy Acuff, Minnie Pearl, Jean Shepard, Billy Walker -- and you Connie. I made my Opry debut in 1994 and I've had so many supporters who have rooted for me and been nice to me all these years."
Barnett is also set to appear in each of the Opry's four "Opry Country Christmas" shows debuting this coming holiday season at the Opry House.
"Night after night, year after year, we've been astounded by Mandy's magnificent performances. She loves the Opry and the Opry loves her right back. It's a great match now and will be for years to come," Opry vice president and executive producer Dan Rogers said.
An uncompromising singer whose style is rooted in the classic country of Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves, Webb Pierce, and Brenda Lee, Mandy Barnett’s keen interpretive sense enables her to delve into a song, study the intricacies of its emotional content, and render a powerful performance through her full-bodied voice.
Mandy has starred as Patsy Cline in the musical production Always…Patsy Cline at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on and off since 1994. Mandy tours regularly in concert, nationally and internationally, and is a frequent guest on the Grand Ole Opry.
She has released critically acclaimed albums, including her self-titled debut, “I’ve Got a Right to Cry”, produced by Owen Bradley, the Christmas album “Winter Wonderland”, “Sweet Dreams”, and “I Can’t Stop Loving You: The Songs Of Don Gibson”. Mandy has also been featured on movie soundtracks.
Reviewers have heralded Mandy’s talents as “one of the most beautiful ‘classic country’ female voices of all time. She has total control of her voice and sings effortlessly. Barnett is a true master of her craft.”
Barnett becomes an Opry member in a busy year for inductions from the nearly century-old institution. She's the fifth artist to earn Opry membership this year, joining family gospel group The Isaacs, bluegrass staple Rhonda Vincent, trio Lady A and country hit maker Carly Pearce.
